To catalyze the holistic and rational thinking faculties among the law-students and to bridge the gap between the legal scholarship, academia, and the professionals, Niti Manthan stands committed. It is an initiative to motivate and inspire young students on various socio-legal themes and to guide them traverse the righteous path throughout the endeavor of their personal and professional lives. By having a direct interaction and by the exchange of views with experienced legal minds, it is hoped that the young law students and scholars will be immensely benefitted.
Started with monthly lecture series, weekend classes and research projects, Niti Manthan has now started specialized research centers dealing with various aspects of law and policy.
Nature of Work
The work shall be doctrinal as well as empirical in nature. It shall focus on legal practice and not just theories on the law. Understanding the law in motion and get the first-hand experience of legal rules as they are applied in the real world.
Areas of Law
1. Constitutional Law: Affirmative action policies and Religion qua Constitution.
2. Criminal Law: Prison reforms, sentencing policy, Trial Reforms.
3. Civil procedure: Procedural reforms and stages
4. Law and IT: Introduction of AI and ML in legal research
5. Agro Policy
Office at South Avenue, New Delhi and Deendayal Upadhyay Marg, New Delhi. Work from home could be considered on case to case basis.
Who can apply
A student pursuing LLB (3yr or 5yr course), LLM, A student with basic knowledge of AI and ML ( for Law and IT project) and other courses of similar nature. Applicants having basic knowledge of Constitutional law, Cr.P.C., Evidence Act, Penal Code, and Civil procedure and report writing would be preferable.
It is going to be a continuous project. Internship through this call shall start from 26th Dec 2019. The minimum commitment expected is for one month. Extensions shall be granted on the basis of work delivered.
Apart from exposure of law, perks like certificate and opportunity to work with the State executive, advisers to the government, and students from the law-school pan-India shall be provided. Initially, No stipend shall be provided.
