The Legal Aid Committee of GLC Mumbai, is organizing a webinar on the topic of ‘Indian Constitution’ which will be taken by Dr. Amit Tyagi, Indian legal Services as Asst. Legal Advisor to the Government of India under the Ministry of Law & Justice.
About the Organizer
The Legal Aid Committee, as the name suggests, strives to provide free legal assistance to those who cannot afford it.
The legal Aid Committee has varied and diverse activities to be undertaken which range from providing pro bono legal opinion to needy people, spreading awareness in Mumbai on various current socio-legal issues, teaching juvenile delinquents, and writing bail applications for the prison inmates. The committee is comprised of four avenues:
- Legal Aid Cell
- Legal Awareness Cell
- Juvenile Home Visits
- Jail Visits
The event is organized keeping in mind the curiosity of students about various aspects of the Indian Constitution. Dr.Tyagi will be interviewed by Ms.Deepadnya Walanj who is the Legal Aid Cell Coordinator of the Legal Aid Committee, GLC.

About the Speaker
Dr. Amit Tyagi is working with Indian legal Services as Assistant Legal Advisor to the Government of India under the Ministry of Law & Justice.
He holds a Ph.D. in Indian Constitution. Prior to that, he completed his LL.B and LLM from Maharishi Dayanand Saraswati Ajmer University, Rajasthan with a specialization in Constitutional Law. He also holds a PG Diploma in Labour Laws from Kota Open University. He is highly skilled in negotiation, Legal Assistance, and Strategic Planning.
Previously he has worked as Prosecution Officer under the State Government of Rajasthan under the Ministry of Home Affairs. He was also Deputy Director of Law in the Serious Fraud Investigation Office (SFIO).
