Webinar on Being Transgender in South Asia by iProbono [May 22, 3PM]: Registrations Open

iProbono is organising  a webinar titled ‘Being Transgender in South Asia – Voices of Activists from Across the Region’.

Date and Time: Friday, May 22 from 3 to 4 PM IST and SLST/2:30 to 3:30 PM PKT.

Aritha Wickramasinghe, Equality Law Director* at iProbono, will moderate the discussion with our speakers – Aisha Mughal from Pakistan, Bhoomi Harendran from Sri Lanka, and Shaman Gupta from India, whose bios are provided below.

Planned around the International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia and Transphobia or IDAHOT (which was on May 17), this webinar will be an in-depth conversation with transgender activists across South Asia. The speakers will share their journeys with us, while also responding to legal frameworks on the rights of transpersons within the three respective jurisdictions.
