About the University

The University of Hamburg (German: Universität Hamburg, also referred to as UHH) is a public research university in Hamburg, Germany. It was founded in 1919.

About the Lecture

Some say that female lawyers have many sleepless nights since women lawyers are also in charge of their kids’ primary childcare and only nights left to work overtime. Indeed, international arbitration is a very masculine area, where women with small kids have limited opportunities to compete.

Building upon this problem, Munkhnaran Munkhtuvshin analyzes how motherhood and cognitive bias at law firms impact the female practitioners’ career in arbitration by conducting eight private interviews with East Asian women arbitrators and twelve surveys among young female practitioners.
