How did you apply for the internship?

I applied via email for the internship.

I had initially applied for a physical internship but later requested for a virtual internship owing to the local lockdowns that were being put into place by different States.

Applications can be mailed to ashhar@lexvitaelegal.com

First day formalities, infrastructure, first impression

My first virtual day was after court hours. I understood what was expected of me and how I was to approach this internship.

It helped me create a frame of mind which fits the requirements.

Main Tasks

My main tasks were drafting bail applications, arbitration appeals and writ petitions, researching relevant points of law, making research notes on various legislations and presenting a comparative analysis of provisions as and when required.

Work Environment

Because this internship was a virtual experience, there is not much to add here.

Usually work was assigned after court hours or later in the day.

Sometimes there used to be urgent submissions required and that kept us on our toes.

Our supervisor, Adv. Ashhar Warsi used to guide us whenever required and made sure that we were able to catch onto aspects which would help us in the longer run.

Good Things

Mentoring and guidance is an aspect usually neglected but that was not the case here.

We got to learn the practical side of advocacy albeit in a virtual manner while also picking the brains of Adv. Ashhar in order to understand what went into making an advocate.

He would set aside time especially in case interns had questions about their career or required guidance in some area.

Bad Things

No such aspects were found.

Stipend

Nil

Details about accommodation and commute

This was a virtual internship.

Anything else?

I am still in touch with Adv. Ashhar over things I need guidance for.

It has helped me navigate through tough tides.
