From: 12/01/2021 Till: 24/03/2021

How did you apply for the internship?

I applied for the internship by sending my resume to the following email:

First day formalities, infrastructure, first impression

After I emailed my resume, I got a call from the organization for confirmation of my internship after some days.

I was also explained in detail, the work that I would be required to do during the internship.

I was also asked the day from which I can start interning there.

The first impression was overall great. There were no formalities on the first day as such.

I was just required to start with the work.

Main Tasks

I was required to write 80 news articles covering a wide array of the legal aspects involved therein for publication on the organization’s website (

I was required to write two-three legal news articles every day, for which I used to be given the link of the article from any website covering legal news for reference.

Sometimes I was also required to interpret some recent PILs, orders, judgments, ordinances or affidavits to be converted into a legal news article.

There was no prescribed word limit for the articles as such. All that was needed was a strong headline and all the important details regarding the news.

Work Environment

The work environment was friendly.

All the communication used to take place on a WhatsApp group.

Fellow interns were also friendly and cooperative.

Good Things

It was indeed a great internship experience, especially for a first-year student without any previous internship experience. I learned a lot.

I became interested in reading and engaging in conversations about recent news and developments in the legal world.

While interpreting judgments, PILs, and other legal documents, I became familiar with the language of the Court and how a matter is argued or broadly what is written in a PIL.

I was always updated with the legal developments. Most importantly, I learned the basics of legal writing.

While writing the background of any news, I learned how to research.

Starting as a legal news content writer, I built a strong foundation that helped in later in other research and content writing internships.

Bad Things

I feel that more feedback could have been given by the editor.

No stipend

Details about accommodation and commute

It was an online internship.

Anything else?

I was once asked to convert a video made by Lawstreet Journal into a legal new article.

It was an amazing task and my favorite memory from the internship.

I would recommend law students of any year to undertake this internship as it would increase their interpreting and understanding abilities.

You will definitely grow as a law student and as a legal content writer.
