How did you apply for the internship?
Ketan was browsing through Internshala looking for internships when he came across this opportunity and applied for it through the platform.
After which he was received a confirmation mail stating that his application had been accepted.
First day formalities, infrastructure, first impression
The internship was virtual so he was invited to a meeting by his supervisor and was explained his role in detail.
All his responsibilities were communicated to him by the supervisor, who would also make him understand things when asked about.
Main Tasks
1. Reading judgements, FIRs and understanding them;
2. Legal research; and
3. Insights on how to draft bail petitions, writs and legal notices, compromise petitions and matrimonial matters.
Also he now believes that running for internships early can help you gain knowledge about things a law school won’t necessarily teach you.
Work Environment
He was very pleased describing to me about the way he was treated and made comfortable during his internship.
His superior was more than happy to help him guide through the work that he was allotted.
Sharanya Chakraborty, his supervisor, helped him throughout the internship and appreciated his timely work along with reviewing it and giving him insights on the same.
Good Things
It was really easy for him to communicate openly about what he knew and what he needed help with, which is something he believes helped him complete the internship smoothly.
Bad Things
He has nothing bad to say about his experience with the organization or his superiors.
Stipend
It was an unpaid internship.
Details about accommodation and commute
Didn’t need to travel as it was a virtual internship.
Anything else?
The internship made him realize a lot about things that a law school only assigns a student with and doesn’t necessarily teach them.
He learnt how to write like a professional in the legal field.
He mentioned how he learnt the skill to properly read a judgement and interpret it during this internship.
