Ingenious speaking events, Creative writing events and nerve- wracking quizzes- this sums up Literary Arts as a department. LA events test the overall literary skills of the participants and gives them upcoming Wordsworth’s a platform to showcase their talent.

We’ve also had Ashwin Sanghi, Javed Akhtar, Girija Oak, Suresh Nair, Dr.Harish Shetty, Monica Matani, Saurabh Pant, Minocher Patel, Huma Qureshi and other similar personalities as judges for our events.

JAM (Just-A-Minute): Essentially an extempore speaking event, JAM checks the control of your mind over your mouth. This event is one of the most crowd-pulling events with enormous quality participation every year.

It is one of those events where there’s never a dull moment because on one hand you have zany, wacky statements and on the other, you have sheer pressure to speak non-stop without hesitation and the fear that your competitors could pounce on you at any second.

Investigative Courtroom Trial: This is Umang’s very own CSI. It tests the participant’s knowledge of law and gives them a chance to be the Sherlock Holmes they always dreamt of being.

It involves investigation of a crime scene and also nabbing the culprit in this nail-biting criminal atmosphere. It is a USP for Umang and is one of the biggest and most awaited events every year.

Mock Parliament: this event is a simulation of the Indian Parliament, an event wherein the procedures of the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha are replicated. It tests the debating skills as well as their knowledge on current affairs of the participants.

The mock parliament is a simulation of the parliamentary proceedings of the Lok Sabha wherein the participants will be assuming the identity of famous members of parliament. They will be discussing and deliberating over pressing issues that affect the country.

The participants’ behaviour will be governed by the rules and regulation of the house of parliament. It gives the participants a chance to be in the shoes of the decision makers of our country and familiarises the youth with the working of the government.

The contestants can suit up for a dressing down of every national issue that has ever crossed their mind!
