Rajasthan Judicial Services Examination Prelims

Law Paper-I & II

For any state prelims, it is essential to have a solid command over Bare Acts. Aspirants need to understand each section thoroughly. What sections are vital and what are not? It can be figured out only by solving mock tests and previous year question papers.

Preparing in stages is an obsolete practice. Never make a separate strategy for each stage. Keep your preparation one-dimensional and focus on clearing the exam as a whole.

You must understand that judiciary exams are no longer straightforward. Papers have become interpretive and analytical. So, focus on understanding case laws and concept clarity. If an Act like IPC has illustrations, make sure to read those as well.

Tip 1: 3-4 times reading of Bare Acts is non-negotiable. You can revise the sections from the Index after reading each section diligently.

Tip 2: Never skip the minor subjects and attempt every question because there is no negative marking.

Tip 3: Solve past ten years’ papers before sitting for the exam.

Hindi & English Proficiency

Aspirants cannot afford to take the Hindi and English Proficiency exams lightly. It holds a total weightage of 30%.

Another thing that is important to mention here is that majority of the aspirants preparing for the examination have moderate knowledge of either Hindi or English language. Only a few have a stronghold over both languages.

It is an obvious thing that the level of difficulty of both Hindi and English papers is high. So, it is advisable to check where you are lacking and prepare accordingly.

For English, aspirants can buy Wren & Martin. For Hindi, Raghav Prakash’s book on Hindi grammar is good. Please don’t ignore Hindi grammar. It is equally important as English grammar.
