About the organisation
Scottish Rugby is the governing body for rugby union in Scotland.
Scottish Rugby is based at BT Murrayfield Stadium in Edinburgh and we administer Scotland’s international rugby teams, the country’s two professional clubs (Edinburgh Rugby and Glasgow Warriors), and the domestic game across Scotland.
About the job
Scottish Rugby is now looking for an experienced senior lawyer to join Scottish Rugby as Head of Legal.
Reporting to the General Counsel & Company Secretary, the Head of Legal will lead our internal Legal team to provide commercially focussed, trusted and quality in-house legal support to all areas of Scottish Rugby across a range of legal subject matter.
A core element of the role is to act as Secretary to the Scottish Rugby Council (the elected body or representatives responsible for oversight of the activities of the Board of Scottish Rugby Union Limited).
This will include organising, attending, and minuting meetings, managing senior relationships, and providing trusted advice and support to the President, Vice-President and other members of the Scottish Rugby Council.
Flexibility, relationship management, stakeholder management, communication, adaptability, and the ability to manage conflicting priorities under pressure will, therefore, all be key to success in the role.
More detail about the role is available in the job description.
