Internship Opportunity @ Friends of the Earth, London [Salary £18,564]: Apply by August 26

If you have finished your legal studies and are passionate about using the law to protect community rights and the environment, we’d love to hear from you!

Friends of the Earth’s legal team is one of the most exciting places to campaign for environmental justice; we work on solving the major environmental problems of our time and building the movement for positive change. To help us do this, we’re looking for a capable and committed Legal Intern to join our team.

If you have finished your legal studies and are passionate about using the law to protect community rights and the environment, we’d love to hear from you!

With the generous support of the Phil Michaels Internship Scholarship Fund we are able to offer people the opportunity to undertake high-quality legal work as paid interns within one of the country’s leading campaigning environmental NGOs.

We particularly welcome applications from people who would not be able to undertake an unpaid internship.

Your role will be to support the legal team’s work from stopping fracking and protecting bees to defending community access to environmental justice, and much more in between.

Working closely with our team of lawyers you’ll have a hands-on role in supporting Friends of the Earth’s campaigns. You will join meetings, conduct research, help to prepare legal documents, see our campaigning in action (including through strategic litigation), and get to know what makes a campaigning environmental NGO tick.

This internship is an excellent opportunity to gain entry level legal and campaigning experience and skills.

Possessing a degree in Law or equivalent qualifications or experience, you’ll have a good knowledge of public, EU, environmental and/or planning law and will have experience of undertaking detailed legal research and analysis.

In return we offer a competitive range of benefits, a good work/life balance, excellent learning and development opportunities and a vibrant and friendly organisational culture.

To apply, download our job description and complete our application form telling us how you meet the essential criteria stated in the person specification and press the apply button below
