UGC NET Dates Announced (May, 2021); Registrations Open: Apply by March 2!

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced dates for UGC-NET Examination to be conducted between May 2-17, 2021.

UGC-NET exam is conducted for awarding Junior Research Fellowships (JRF) and is an eligibility exam for appointment as Assitant Professor.

This Exam is conducted twice a year by the National Testing Agency on behalf of the University Grants Commission.

Dates of Examination

May 2-17, 2021 (2 Shifts – 9 AM to 12 PM; 3 PM – 6 PM).

Candidates can be allotted any particular shift on any particular day for the examination.

Pattern of Examination

The Test will consist of two papers.

Both the papers will consist of objective type, multiple-choice questions. The exam will be of 3 hours duration.

Paper 1 – 50 Questions of 2 Marks each

The questions in Paper I intends to assess the teaching/ research aptitude of the candidate.

It will primarily be designed to test reasoning ability, reading comprehension, divergent thinking and general awareness of the candidate.

Paper 2 – 100 Questions of 2 Marks each

This is based on the subject selected by the candidate and will assess domain knowledge.
