Duration of Internship and timings
First impression, first day formalities, infrastructure
Since, it was my first internship ever I was very excited, energy filled, I just goofed around and then made myself comfortable in the conference room where all the interns usually sit.
I was told to study JJ ACT and later in the evening i was provided with the project I had to work upon.
The main task I was given was to prepare a research report on the Juvenile Justice Act, 2000 and how Udayan Care was (or was not) adhering to it.
I studied the Juvenile Justice Act and its rules and then moved on to analyse annual reports of the organisation to come up with a report titled ‘An Analysis of Udayan Care’s Adherence to The Juvenile Justice Act, 2000 as amended by the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Amendment Acts, 2006 and 2011’.
Work environment and people
Awesome, all the supervisors are friendly and extremely helpful. I had the best tome in those 21 days at Udayan Care.
It had everything from cries to complaining to dancing to workshops to laughter and to the best making new friends.
The best things about this internship was the method of report writing I learnt. I was given a few reports to study by the organisation.
These reports had been made by previous interns. One of these reports was by a Mexican lawyer.
You don’t live unless you live for the future. These children are the future.
I was staying in Delhi and used to commute through metro.
