Name of Organisation, Location city, Team Strength

Thiru and Thiru, Bangalore

Application Process with contact details

I was able to land the internship through a reference.Generally, the office accepts internships from the third year above.

The internship form is available here and interested candidates can apply through the same.

Duration of internship and timings

I was required to intern for a duration of three weeks and interned from April to May, 2014. Generally, internships extend to over a month.

First impression, first day formalities, infrastructure

I met with Mr Thiru on the first day. He was extremely polite and courteous. He asked me a few questions and briefed me on the work done there.

We laid down the tasks I was expected to do. The office is warm and cozy. All the employees were forthcoming and helpful.

Main tasks

I was an inexperienced intern and therefore wasn’t allotted any substantial tasks. I was expected to read cases and accompany Mr Thiru on court visits.

He was kind enough to clarify my doubts and explain the nitty-gritties of the cases. At the end of my internship, I had to present a report on the work so far undertaken in front of the entire office!

Work environment and people

The people were relaxed yet professional. They were polite and approachable. They never failed to greet me with a smile and a few pleasantries.

Best things

I loved the court visits. I was able to witness the proceedings and nature of arguments advanced. I really appreciated Mr as well as Mrs. Thiru’s approach to handling us young interns. They were very supportive and took a keen interest in our work.

Bad things

I wish I was able to contribute more. Other than that, nothing was bad.

Stipend

None

Biggest Lessons

This was my first internship and a very educating one at that. I was acquainted the atmosphere of a lawyer’s office and it took me by awe.

Overall Rating

Accommodation

Being a localite, accommodation wasn’t a concern for me. But for those who it is, there are many PG’s located in the vicinity. There are also many scrumptious food joints right around the corner and accommodation shouldn’t be an issue.

Office Timings

The timings were 10am to 3pm. Sundays were off. Interns from higher years of study worked until late evening. There was an attendance register that had to be signed and it gave an unfavorable impression in case of late entries.
