About the Blog
The Indian Review of Corporate and Commercial Laws (IRCCL) is a blog that publishes articles on current issues relating to corporate law, dispute resolution, antitrust, taxation, insolvency law, trade law, and labour and employment law.
Started in 2018, the blog endeavours to create a writing community, consisting of students, research scholars and practitioners, so as to generate debate and discussion in the aforesaid areas. The blog now has a readership of 4,000 a month and a 7,800+ following on its LinkedIn platform.
The work of the editorial team is closely checked by a Board of Advisors that consists of some of the leading practitioners such as Mr Tom Valenti (Conflict Resolution Specialist), Ms Soumya Hariharan (Partner, Trilegal), Mr Sumant Batra (Managing Partner, Kesar Dass B. & Associates), and Mr Ankur Khandelwal (Partner, Kochhar & Co), among others.
The Editorial Team
Our editorial team consists of both practitioners and students viz. Role of a Student Editor
A Student Editor at IRCCL would be expected to review articles, submitted on a rolling basis, by law students and practitioners. Typically, the interest area of the Student Editor would be taken into consideration while allocating articles to her/him for review. An article is expected to be reviewed within a period of 5 working days from the date of its receipt.
Beyond the primary work of reviewing articles, a Student Editor would play a key role in the general administration of the blog including ensuring that the editorial team members are working as per expectations.
Any person who is currently a second/third-year student in a 5-year undergraduate programme at a recognised law school may apply for the position of Student Editor. The applicant’s profile should ideally display his/her interest in any of the subject areas that fall within IRCCL’s domain (insolvency law, taxation law, dispute resolution law, competition law, corporate/securities law, trade law, or employment law).
Please note that a person already holding an editorial position at a publication platform dealing with corporate and commercial laws would not be eligible for applying to the position.
At IRCCL, previous experience counts. This experience could be in the form of some publication experience or an editorial position held in the past.
Period of Association
Once the Student Editor is part of IRCCL, he/she would be expected to remain part of the editorial team until they are graduated. Once graduated, IRCCL’s editorial team would, upon taking the concerned individual’s considerations into account, decide whether his/her association with IRCCL can be continued.
