TEDxWalledCity is a focused, intimate and relatable setting where people who are deeply interested in ideas that can define our future, change the way we think and have an impact on the world get together to share their brain-trust.

TEDxWalledCity 2015 is an independently organised TED event in partnership with major development institutions.

At TEDxWalledCity, speakers with world changing ideas come together with an inspired audience to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group.

It brings together creative and forward thinking young people from Delhi that are as fascinating and accomplished as the speakers themselves.

In this event, our thought Leaders, Idea Mavens, Contrarians, Youth Icons, and the youth themselves will explore the theme ”From ideas to action”.

The Incomparable Speakers:

Ashif Shaikh: Ashif is an Indian Social activist, Convenor of Rashtriya Garima Abhiyan, Fighter for eradication of the inhuman practice of manual scavenging and empowerment of Dalit specially Dalit-Muslim and women through various campaigns.

Sushant Kalra: Sushant is the founder of Parwarish Institute of Parenting, institute for educating parents on child development. His work is focused on a unique early child development framework, which surprisingly is applicable to adults as well. He has been conducting the workshops on Body Science with parents and adolescents for last 2 years.

Dhruv Visvanath: Dhruv is a fingerstyle guitar player who has released several solo albums and been the subject of several popular YouTube videos. Dhruv played his first guitar at age 13 and began to draw influence from McKee and such great guitarists as he continued studying the instrument on his own. Dhruv excels in the unique percussive genre of this instrument.

Rakesh Sharma: Wing Commander Rakesh Sharma is a national hero who flew as part of the Soyus T- 11 program and was the first Indian to go into outer space. Rakesh is now working on the exploration model of space which is potentially transporting all our wars of planet earth to outer space.

BomBaebs: A provocative rap on the hypocrisy of gender identities and equity.

Sangita Vyas: Sangita is the Managing director at R.I.C.E Institute and holds an MPA in Economics and Public Policy with a Concentration in Urban Policy from Princeton University’s Woodrow Wilson School. Sangita is broadly interested in the politics and economics of inequality and making services work in India.

Amit Kapoor: Dr. Amit Kapoor is Honorary Chairman at Institute for Competitiveness, studying firms, clusters and economies and is also a Professor of Strategy at Management Development Institute, India. His research interest lies in the fields of Enhancing Competitiveness, Competitive Advantage and Leveraging Technology for Success.

Vaibhav Singh: Vaibhav is a part of Providence Equity Advisors India, world’s leading private equity firm focused on technology, media, telecom and education investments. Prior to joining Providence, Vaibhav worked for the India coverage mergers & acquisitions group at Lazard.
