TARKA SASTRA, 2015 is the flagship mooting event of School of Law, SASTRA University. The SASTRA Moot Society has been organizing this mooting event for the past five years in which students from across the nation have participated.
The competition has grown over the years and attracts the finest talent, providing a platform for students to participate, interact and learn from each other.
This year’s problem presents an especially interesting challenge to the participants through its contemporary approach to Constitutional Law. The competition will be conducted from 18th to 20th September, 2015.
Sign up for the provisional registration: preferably before 18th August, 2015.
18th August: Last day for provisional registration
21st August: Confirmation of participating colleges (first come first serve basis)
24th August: Last date for sending soft copies of registration form and DD
28th August: Last date for receipt of hard copies of registration form and DD
9th September: Last date for submission of soft copies of memorials (from both sides)
12th September: Last date for receipt of one hard copy of memorials (from both sides)
18th September: Submission of 5 hard copies of memorials (from both sides) at the time of registration
Winning Team Award: The winning team will receive a cash prize of Rs. 50,000/-.
Runner Up Team Award: The runners up team will receive a cash prize of Rs.25,000/-
Best oralist shall receive a cash prize of Rs.10,000/-.
Best researcher shall receive a cash price of Rs. 10,000/-
The team with the Best Memorials will receive a cash prize of Rs.5,000/-.
Accommodation, food and transport:
Accommodation and food for participating teams will be provided by School of Law, SASTRA University on campus.
Accommodation will be provided from 17th September, 2015 (evening) to 21st September, 2015 (morning).
No facility will be provided to any extra member, coach or faculty accompanying the team.
The name and mobile number of the student volunteers in charge of transport/accommodation will be made available.
