First impression, first day formalities, infrastructure
The office was very warm and welcoming. On the first day, I was asked to make a PowerPoint Presentation on safe pet policy. Analyse pet policies in International Five Star Hotels and come up with our own policies for pets.
Analysed the International laws followed by Worlds’ five-star hotels and made a presentation on Banquet Policy, Packing and Labelling Food Policy, Prevention of Food Adulteration Policy, Pet Policy, Baby Sitting Agreement for the clients of Taj Hotel chain.
Performed expedited research on licensing, waiver of breach of licensing agreement, and the relationship between patent infringement and breach of license agreement.
Assisted in Drafting Sexual Harassment Policy
Drafted Written Statement, Legal Notices and Replies to Statutory Notices.
Work environment and people
Everybody was very helpful and were ready to guide me at any point of time.
The best thing about the internship perhaps was that it acquainted me with the culture that thrives in big companies and made me confident with in-house legal office work.
Also, the internship was fruitful in sharpening my research and drafting skills to a great extent.
We were provided with lunch and tea with snacks. There was a treadmill in the office for us to refresh our memory.
No appearance at the court as the legal work was outsourced.
No stipend but was given a box of delicious chocolate at the end of the internship.
Biggest lesson was how to manage a 9-6 desk job. The internship has been an intellectually stimulating and exciting experience.
Since I lived in Mumbai itself, accommodation was not an issue for me. But one can stay at PG and hostels around.
