How did you apply for the internship?
I searched on Google for Lawyers near me that’s how I found about KS law Chambers.
Then I sent my application to Kavya ma’am with my CV and Statement of Purpose(SOP).
Ma’am had been generous enough to confirm my internship promptly. Later I had an interview with Kavya ma’am.
First day formalities, infrastructure, first impression
As I had joined the chamber on March 1, 2021 no such formalities were there, infrastructure was really good and there were two offices along with a big conference table.
My first impression was very good and had a very nice first day. Other interns were also great and ma’am had a fabulous nature. We enjoyed a lot with working with them.
Main Tasks
The main task basically revolved around reading cases for the first few days which were listed for that month.
Thus, I did researches on multiple areas of law i.e., constitutional law, contract law, criminal law and little work on the motor vehicle areas.
Work Environment
As there were many people working in the office. My work related to filings, notary, drafting and mediation.
Good Things
There were many good things which I pleasantly recall. The first and the foremost thing which I recall is the direct guidance with Kavya Singh ma’am.
She hardly ever put the pressure on the interns. She urged us to do in depth research on what ever work was allotted to us.
She also allow her interns to attend court proceedings during break and leisure time.Â
Bad Things
Nothing bad about the internship as such.
StipendÂ
No monetary stipend was given.
Details about accommodation and commute
No accommodation was required because the chamber was near to my place where I lived.
Anything else?
Learnt a lot about criminal cases, contract cases, real estate cases and primarily about civil matters. After work we used to chill in the office it self.
