About the Webinar

Students for Liberty South Asia is organising a Webinar on “Does Population Cause Poverty?”

Webinar Date and Time: Friday, 10th November 2019, 7:30 pm IST onwards.

In popular discourse, overpopulation is often blamed to be one of the major reasons of poverty, especially in the context of South Asia and Africa. So is population really a problem? Will we run out of resources in the near future? What role does innovation and human ingenuity play here? How can the price system help us better understand this question? How ethical are population control policies and how have these policies fared in terms of meeting their stated objectives? What do the discussions on demographic dividend vs demographic disaster mean?
