Students For Liberty South Asia is organising an E-Samvad on the Movie Dallas Buyers Club on 21 November 2020.
About Students For Liberty
SFL is the largest network of students striving for the cause of liberty worldwide, with a community spanning more than 100 countries across the world.
Rising above partisan politics, we engage in open and civil discourse over how to best promote freedom in all aspects of our lives and create a freer future for all. We respect that everyone comes to their justification for liberty in their own way and we are supportive of them in that journey.
What is an E-Samvaad?
Samvad originates from the Sanskrit word संवाद (saṃvāda) which means Dialogue, Discourse or Collocution. It is a space where you can put your thoughts and ideas in front of an audience which is willing to hear, reciprocate, and contemplate and understand issues from diverse perspectives.
About this E-Samvad
AIDS, Homophobia, Drug Control, Prohibition, Immunodeficiency, Deaths…. Sounds Familiar? Could be. Sounds archaic? May be!
Let’s travel back to as recent as the 1980s with Matthew McConaughey and Jared Leto in the Biographical Drama “Dallas Buyers Club”, to understand the statist regime rampant with drug control, mutilated human trials, favours to corporate lobbyists, deprivation of essential medicines, and making life a matter of trial and error.
Let us also explore this world portrayed by the movie through the E-Saamvad with the perspective of a 21st-century dweller and find answers to the pertinent concerns regarding AIDS, Drugs and State Control, as they exist today.

I am an army girl! In a barbie world! Keeper of 5 dogs. On a diet for now. Sometimes I might make punctuation mistakes, but I make up for it by bringing in a crore or two extra. What's more important, a misplaced comma, or a well-placed crore?
