Marathwada Mitra Mandal’s Shankarrao Chavan Law College, Pune is organising a Certificate Course on Law and Alternative Sexualities.
About the Certificate Course on “Law and Alternative Sexualities”:
The course will sensitize students towards gender and sexual identities other than the universal male/female heterosexual and heteronormative identities prevalent in the world. It will enhance their employability, with an increasing number of NGOs and support groups now involved with lesbian, gay and transgender rights, and even government organizations acknowledging the need for this recognition.
The aim of the course is to introduce and acquaint students with the concept of alternative sexual identities, and the history, law, politics, and literature of alternative sexualities in ancient, medieval and contemporary India.
- Special guest lectures, interactive session based workshops, videos, group discussions and films will be arranged/organized as a part of this certificate course.
- For each module, students will be graded on the basis of internal and external evaluation through written assignments, participation in quiz programs and multiple-choice question format.
- There will be street plays also so as to build awareness on the campus or among other groups of the society.
Graduates or Undergraduates above 18 years of age
3 months consisting of 27 sessions of 2 hours each
Mode of Teaching
The course will commence in an online mode however shall resume physical classes as and when the COVID-19 situation permits.
