Rajiv Gandhi Institute For Contemporary Studies (RGICS) is looking for outstanding young graduates/ post-graduates interested in a career in development, public administration, governance, civil society, law, journalism or politics for appointment as RG-RALs in 2015-2016.
Initiated in 2012, the Rajiv Gandhi Research Assistants to Legislators (RG-RALs) Programme aims to engage highly motivated future leaders to public policy making and legislative actions. Read more here.
The one-year RG-RALs program provides outstanding young people a unique opportunity to learn first hand about the interface between politics, government, business and academia on public policy issues.
RG-RALs study and analyze a wide range of contemporary policy issues and prepare weekly briefs as well one-off issue briefs that are widely circulated amongst Members of Parliament, political leaders and civil society activists.
Policy briefs prepared by RG-RALs are posted on the RGICS web-site, blog and Facebook page. RG-RALs will have the opportunity to organize and participate in a range of academic seminars and discussions.
RG-RALs are selected through a highly competitive and transparent process. They will undergo an orientation program and will be guided by subject experts.
Indian citizen; maximum 25 years of age*.
Minimum graduate with an outstanding academic record, exceptional leadership qualities and achievements.
Proven excellent analytical and communication skills (strong command of written and spoken English is essential- command of Hindi will be an advantage).
Proven research skills and past experience or written work on policy is highly desirable.
Willingness to travel to rural areas for field-work.
*28 years for SC/ST applicants
Stipend: Fixed Monthly stipend ranging from Rs. 22,000-24,000/- based on qualifications & experience.

Duration and Location: The RG-RALs programme will commence in July, 2015. The RG-RALs will be based in New Delhi and will be required to work full time for a period of one year.
