Parasol Foundation Essay Competition

Israel has a strong reputation for legal expertise, and Tel Aviv University’s most prestigious program is the Parasol Foundation International LL.M. This program includes a strong focus on globalization as a context for legal studies and law-based discourse relating to the Middle East’s regional and international conflicts.

The LL.M. is a source of attraction for outstanding jurists worldwide with its unique learning method and exceptional specialization tracks. This program contributes not only to the careers of its graduates and to the reputation of the Faculty and the University, but also to the diversity of legal perspectives in the classrooms and to the level of discussion on every topic, attesting to the excellence in the Faculty as a leading legal academic institution.

The Parasol Foundation International LL.M. launches its first essay writing competition in India, Nepal, and Sri Lanka. To enter the competition, candidates are required to be currently enrolled in a law degree at the undergraduate level in their respective countries or can be recent LL.B. graduates.

Winning entries will be awarded a total of $13,300 as financial aid for the LL.M. program.

The essay topics are in consonance with the three specializations offered by the International LL.M. program: Law and Technology, International Law and Human Rights, and Business Law.

The topics for the competition are:

  1. International Human Rights: Access to medicine in a Covid-19 world
  2. Business Law: New ways for laws to support innovation.
  3. Law & Technology: Should we regulate fake news on digital platforms?

The academic director of the program, Prof. Ronen Avraham, explains, “The main purpose of this competition is to attract quality candidates, who would be a good fit for the program, which has been built on the foundation of outstanding academic, clinical, library, and administrative staff, external teachers, visiting lecturers, and most importantly—a vibrant student community.”

Prof. Avraham is particularly keen on encouraging South East Asia’s participation for the program, adding,”These students bring a perspective that is otherwise lacking”.

The deadline for submissions is 11:59 pm (Indian Standard Time), April 30, 2021. For more information about the competition, click here.
