Established in 1882 in Lahore, Panjab University is one of the oldest Universities in India. The university has 75 teaching and research departments and 15 centres/chairs for teaching and research at the main campus located at Chandigarh. It has 188 affiliated colleges spread over Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Chandigarh and Regional Centres at Muktsar, Ludhiana and Hoshiarpur.
University Institute of Legal Studies (UILS) was established in 2004-05 with the aim of providing quality education and training in the legal profession. Despite having recent beginnings and facing teething problems, UILS has become one of the premier institutions in the country for providing legal education.
About the Competition
The Competition seeks to provide a platform to the brilliant and ardent legal minds of the institutions to have a pragmatic insight into the working of the law-making machinery of our country and augment their legislative drafting and law interpretation skills.
Through this competition, the cell seeks to promote the participation of the students in the political processes and functioning of democracy by drafting laws on contemporary issues that are yet to be deliberated by the Legislature. The competition seeks to provide a platform for the exchange of ideas and experience.
This competition would serve as an academic stimulation and harness skills like drafting, critical thinking, writing skills and teamwork, making them better professionals
The competition is open to all the students pursuing a 3-year/5-year degree in Law.
The registration form is annexed in the end. The registration fee for the competition is INR 300/- per participant/team. The amount shall be forwarded via bank transfer. There shall be a team cap of 50 teams and selection shall be on first-come-first-served basis.
Students interested are required to send the duly completed registration form to email@example.com along with a scanned copy of their College-id. Students should note that the payment shall be made only after the Final List of registered teams is released. The receipt of payment is to be mailed by 16thMay 2020 at 18:00 hrs. All these formalities must be completed in order to confirm the participation.

The person may participate individually or in a team which may comprise of a maximum 2 members.
There is no limit on the number of teams participating from a single institution.
The members of a team shall belong to the same institution. Under no circumstances shall an individual be allowed to represent an institution which he is not a part of.
The participating students are required to provide their identity cards to the organizing committee along with their registration form. Failure to do so shall result in disqualification.
The last date of Submission is 30th May 2020
Best Team with a cash prize of Rs. 7,500/- and a Certificate of Merit.
First Runners up Team with a cash prize of Rs. 3,500/- and a Certificate of Merit.
Second Runners up Team with a cash prize of Rs. 1,500/- and a Certificate of Merit.
All the participants shall be awarded a Certificate of Participation.
