About the organisation

The University College of Law, Osmania University was inaugurated in 1960 by the then Chief Justice of India Sri B.P.Sinha.

The “Law class” was opened in the year 1899 to give instruction in law to students desirous of joining legal profession along with “Judicial Test” classes for Judicial Officers. Justice P. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the then Dean, Faculty of Law took an active interest in establishing the institution.

About the programme

Justitia, 2019 aims at spreading knowledge to students.

The University College of Law believes that when we all come together, learning becomes more effective and fun-filled.

Thus, the University College of Law presents to you this legal fest that will bring students together from various parts of the country to participate and learn!

Objective
  • To Discharge the University social responsibility.
  • To enhance the knowledge base of the students.
  • To enhance the research skills of students.
  • To ensure capacity and skill development.
  • To improve the professional skills for the students.
  • To provide a platform to the law students to exhibit their talent.
  • To expose the students to not only infotainment and learning through entertainment.

The Two Day Programme will begin on the 26th day of April 2019 and ends on the 27th of April, 2019. The two-day event shall consist of the following events.

  • Moot court
  • Client Counselling Competition
  • Judgment writing.

Venue: University College of Law, Osmania University, Hyderabad – 500 007.

Dates of the Competition: 26th April 2019 and 27th April 2019.

Eligibility
  • Only Law Colleges/Universities recognized by the Bar Council of India are eligible to participate
  • Only bonafide students pursuing LL.B Three year/five year Degree programmes in aforementioned institutions during the current academic year are eligible to participate.

1. Commencement of Registration 21st March 2019
2. Last Date for Registration 15th April 2019
3. Submission of Soft Copies of Memorials 20th April 2019
4. Submission of Hard Copies of Memorials 23rd April 2019
5. Dates of the Competition 27th April 2019
6. Submission of Travel Itinerary 23rd April 2019
7. Soft copy of the registration form and DD should reach the organizers by 17th April 2019
8. The original draft of the registration form and DD should reach the organizer by 19th April 2019
Client Counselling
1. Commencement of Registration 21st March 2019
2. Last Date for Registration 20th April 2019
3. Submission of Travel Itinerary 23rd April 2019
4. The soft of the registration form and DD should reach the organizer by 18th April 2019
5. The original draft of the registration form and DD should reach the organizer by 20th April 2019
Judgement Writing
1. Commencement of Registration 21st March 2019
2. Last Date for Registration 18th April 2019
3. Submission of Travel Itinerary 23rd April 2019
4. The soft of the registration form and DD should reach the organizer by 20th April 2019
5. The original draft of the registration form and DD should reach the organizer by 23rd April 2019

Registration Fee

Moot Court
  • Local Teams: Rs. 3,000/-
  • Outstation Teams: Rs. 4,500/-
Client Counseling
  • Local Teams: Rs. 2,000/-
  • Out Station Teams: Rs.3000/-
Judgement Writing
  • Local Participants: Rs.1000/-
  • Out Station Participants: Rs. 1500/-

Accommodation will be provided.

The Participants are required to duly fill the registration form (endorsed by the Institution) along with the Demand Draft drawn in the favor of “THE PRINCIPAL, UNIVERSITY COLLEGE OF LAW, OU” payable at Hyderabad.

The payment may be made through NEFT to the credit of SBI BANK, CURRENT A/C NO: 52198263081, IFSC Code: SBIN0020071.

The teams/participants are required to confirm their arrival and verify their registration over the phone or through email.

The Teams/participants are required to email the soft copy of the Demand Draft along with the duly filled registration form as per dates given for each event.

No TA and DA will be paid by the organizers. The participants are advised to make their own travelling arrangements.

Moot Court:

  • 1st Prize: Rs.10,000/-
  • 2nd Prize: Rs. 6,000/-
  • Best Mooter:  Rs. 2,000/-
  • Best Memorial: Rs. 3.000/-

Client Counselling

  • 1st Prize: Rs.5,000/-
  • 2nd Prize: Rs.3,000/-

Judgement Writing

  • 1st Prize: Rs.3,000/-
  • 2nd Prize: Rs.2,000/-
  • 3rd Prize: Rs. 1,000/-
