First Day Formalities and First Impression
On the first day, we had an online meeting with Elizabeth ma’am and Puthran sir and were briefed about Intellectual Property Rights, laws and the working of the firm. A mentor was assigned to us on the same day.
I personally loved this internship for two main reasons. The first one being able to learn and explore case laws relating to a particular topic that we were assigned every week. We had a meeting with our mentor everyday to discuss our research and to clarify any other doubts regarding the subject matter.
The firm eagerly taught us with anything and everything related to the subject. The second reason is the weekly sessions with experts who taught us about registering for patents and “trademark search” after which we were assigned to do trademark searches every week. During these weekly sessions, recent cases and judgements were also discussed which provided a deeper insight into the subject.
On our last day we were asked to do a presentation on any of the research topics given to us earlier and discussions were held in the online meeting. Feedbacks and our certificates were given to us the next day.
Everyday meetings created a friendly yet learning environment.
The interns were encouraged to participate equally in all the discussions during the weekly sessions.
Our mentor, Ritika Ma’am was very friendly and she always motivated us to do better.
The firm is an expert in IPR and hence a good exposure was given to all of us.
Since it was an online internship, we were given research-oriented tasks and not about the practice and very little official works. Well, I blame the COVID situation here.

I am an army girl! In a barbie world! Keeper of 5 dogs. On a diet for now. Sometimes I might make punctuation mistakes, but I make up for it by bringing in a crore or two extra. What's more important, a misplaced comma, or a well-placed crore?
