partners figured that the virtual program was the need of the hour not only due to the lockdown and the difficulties of doing a physical internship during the pandemic but also to continue to offer the opportunity to students who are particularly interested to gain practical experience in the fields of Intellectual Property & Technology Laws.
During the 4 weeks as a Virtutern, every week Ashokram Kumar Sir and his team used to give all the ten interns elaborate and insightful topics to research and present upon which personally helped me in developing my research and presentation skills.
All the articles the interns submitted are to be published in a book by the firm.
The interns were presented with an opportunity to coordinate with foreign IP Law firms to help the firm’s clients in securing their IP internationally.
We were also given a task to analyse the intermediary liability as per the Information Technology Act and set forth our arguments for and against the intermediary.
A Moot Court session was also organised by the WordictIP Team to bridge the gap between a physical and an online internship.
Ashokram Sir’s insight on each topic after every presentation was the best part of internship according to me as the knowledge coming from a person who has 30-35 yrs of experience in the field of IP is really valuable.
Also, listening to the presentations of other interns was a learning experience as everyone presented a different and unique topic.
The team was generous and never held back while sharing their knowledge and helped the interns learn about many new topics of IP and also about the impact it has on our societies, economics and the politics of the world.
At times while presenting their topics, students extended their presentations too long which further extended the session duration spanning several hours.

I am an army girl! In a barbie world! Keeper of 5 dogs. On a diet for now. Sometimes I might make punctuation mistakes, but I make up for it by bringing in a crore or two extra. What's more important, a misplaced comma, or a well-placed crore?
