First Day Formalities and Initial Impressions
I was added to the internship group along with 21 others. We were greeted by Advocate Santosh Kumar Ray sir, the founder and managing partner of the firm.
We were asked to join a Video Conference where we were introduced to other associates and about the monthly online internship program the firm started due to Pandemic. We were told that during the internship period they will cover topics like Arbitration Act, IBC Code, SARFAESI and Drafting.
Now comes the catch that I never expected, it was more of a teaching experience rather than just assigning tasks. They taught us Arbitration and IBC Act via Presentations through Screen Share on Video conference.
Once we were done with the topics they gave us topics and case laws for research. Apart from this we were told and motivated to write Research Articles also.
The program was a unique blend of teaching and mentorship. It focused on learning rather than just assigning task. After every topic Santosh Sir himself and his associates, namely, Rituparna Ma’am and Sannoyee Ma’am used to discuss the case laws and real life experience on that topic which made it very interesting.
They invited guest lecturers for us. Advocate Somesh Arora sir was invited for interacting with us with his real life experience in International Arbitration and Advocate Aryan Arora took our class on drafting skills. This made it one of its kind which I haven’t heard about. The personal attention that each intern was given captivated my mind.
Though technology sometimes has its own cons while interaction especially in the legal industry, there was no such bad experience.
It was an online internship.
Sir has a unique way of interaction and promoting students to learn. He selected me along with 4 others to be a part of Legal Research team based on our performance during the internship.

I am an army girl! In a barbie world! Keeper of 5 dogs. On a diet for now. Sometimes I might make punctuation mistakes, but I make up for it by bringing in a crore or two extra. What's more important, a misplaced comma, or a well-placed crore?
