Submit an updated CV at info@lawgystix.org with a cover letter, mentioning SOP, student details and why he/she should be considered for the internship. Along with this, an original, well researched short-writing sample to be sent too, of about 350 words on any contemporary legal/socio-legal topic. This must be complete with appropriate references.

First Day Formalities, Infrastructure, First Impression

As this is a remote internship, you’ll be working from home. On the first day, you will have an orientation with Apoorva Thakur, the founder of Lawgystix, wherein you will get to know about the work that the organisation does, its ethos along your day-to-day assignment. After that, you will be assigned to one of the teams, as per your interest and choice and will subsequently be allotted the tasks you need to complete.

Main Tasks

I was allocated to the Newsletter Team. My main task involved making a complied list of contemporary legal happenings along with other current affairs. I also was required to submit a write-up of about 500-800 words on legal topics of my choice. Additionally, I was also allocated research work on different legal issues such as those pertaining to the Negotiable Instruments Act, the Environmental Protection Act, etc.

Work Environment

  1. Hands-on experience.

Most of the work I was assigned was hands-on. You get to research and compile arguments on your own. The experience thus was very enriching and fascinating

  1. Relaxed work environment

The work environment was pretty relaxed and friendly. This allowed me to continue with the internship whilst my university semester was going on. The Lawgyistix team was extremely warm and helpful, which made for a very conducive working environment. Moreover, we even had fun activities such as team quizzes and seminars with distinguished legal luminaries conducted, making the whole experience pleasant and fun.

  1. Mentoring

One of the best things about the internship was the guidance I received from Apoorva ma’am. She made time to discuss legal arguments with me and patiently heard and gave insightful feedback on my assignments. It helped me learn a great deal from the entire experience.

Stipend (if any)

After completion, you get a certificate and a letter of recommendation on LinkedIn from Apoorva ma’am. Though the work is voluntary and without pay, an honorarium stipend is usually paid depending upon your performance appraisal.
