Name of the organisation where you interned and its full address.
Name Dhyan Foundation.
Note: this was a virtual internship.
Duration of internship
1 month: 1st January 2020 to 2nd February 2020.
How did you apply?
I learned about the internship opportunity from a senior. The internship opportunities come once in a year during the months of January. Students can follow the Facebook page of the organisation to stay updated. I applied on the email address provided on with their website, which can be easily founded.
First day formalities, infrastructure, first impression
This was a virtual/online internship. We were greeted by Gaurav Sir on a zoom conference call. He is the head of the interns. So we were given a short lecture about animal laws. I was required to visit the NGO once and collect some ration for the animals.
I was required to:
Feed the ration provided at the NGO and post the picture in the official what’s app group.
I was required to report any injured or starving animals so that the NGO could help them.
I was required to write articles specialising on the importance of animal laws.
There were many good things:
I love animals so it was a great experience for me overall.
I was able to work for a cause that I really feel for.
I learned a lot about animal laws in India and how I can help the poor animals.
There were no bad things as such. They are an NGO, although the members of the NGO can be more proactive with the interns, it will improve the quality of their interns.
They do not provide any stipend.
Accommodation, commuting to the office
They provide virtual internships.
Anything else, what you did to chill out, lessons learnt etc
It’s not necessary everything is to be done for academic purposes, there can be some things which can be done so that we feel better as humans. So this internship combined the best for me. I was able to do something I love along with animals whom again, I love.
Disclaimer: Internship experiences are opinions shared by individual law students and tend to be personal and subjective in nature. The internship experiences shared on Lawctopus are NOT Lawctopus official views on the internship.
I am an army girl! In a barbie world! Keeper of 5 dogs. On a diet for now. Sometimes I might make punctuation mistakes, but I make up for it by bringing in a crore or two extra. What's more important, a misplaced comma, or a well-placed crore?
