How did you apply?

I applied to this firm through a contact and got a response immediately. You can apply at least 2 months prior to for an internship.

First day formalities, infrastructure, etc?

Since this was an online internship, there were no such formalities. On your first day, you are given the login credentials by HR and expected to log in.

Main tasks

You are not assigned work immediately after you join. You have to be active and ask for work. First 2-3 days you need to constantly contact HR to remind them to give you some work or to contact the concerned persons. At the end of the first week, I was assigned a task by one of the partners which was related to company laws research and note. I was also assigned work related to research, making list of dates and events, case summaries in matters of arbitration. I was also assigned a task by two associates which were related to banking and concerned mostly with research. The associates call you directly if they have any work.

Work environment

The work environment is relaxed and comfortable. There is quality work so to say. The work also depends on how efficiently you complete the task and how much you can undertake. Partners and associates are well spoken and kind. They do assist you in case of any doubts or questions.

Good things/bad things?

The good thing about this internship is that since it is a relaxed environment, there is a scope of learning. You learn as you work.

Bad things include not enough interaction and not knowing whether your work actually contributes to the firm in any way. Also, when you do any work, you expect a minimum stipend in return which they did not provide.

No Stipend.
