The Webinar: Its Background

In pursuance of the society’s aim to promote intellectual dialogue on important areas of international law, ILPS is pleased to organize its second webinar on the topic “Most Favored Nations Clauses in Bilateral Investment Treaties

Most Favored Nations (MFN) clauses are common in Bilateral Investment Treaties. However, it has been a subject of varied interpretations by treaty-based arbitral tribunals. Through this webinar, the society aims to provide a platform to create a better understanding of MFN in Bilateral Investment Treaties.

The Speaker

Poorvi Satija, an international arbitration lawyer, is an associate at White & Case LLP. She mainly deals with international commercial and investment arbitration cases.

She has been involved as a coach and arbitrator in the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot competition for years. Since 2017, she has also been coaching teams for the IBA-VIAC CDRC Vienna Mediation and Negotiation Competition.

Ms. Poorvi graduated with a BA LLB degree from NALSAR University, Hyderabad in 2013 and pursued LLM in Dispute Resolution from Harvard Law School.
