India’s persistence has been instrumental in the process bringing the treaty that focuses on rights of Blind, Visually Impaired, or otherwise Print Disabled Persons in respect of access to knowledge.

India’s commitment to this important issue is evident from the fact that even before the treaty was adapted, provisions benefiting persons with disability was incorporated in the Indian Copyright Act by 2012 Copyright (Amendment) Act.
