Call for Papers: NLIU Law Review [Volume X, Issue II]: Submit by February 15
For Volume X Issue II of the NLIU Law Review, they are inviting submissions on the theme of “The Evolving Dimensions of National Security in India”.
About NLIU Law Review
The NLIU Law Review is the flagship journal of the National Law Institute University, Bhopal. It is a peer-reviewed academic law journal, published biannually by the students of the University.
The Law Review aims to promote a culture of scholarly research and academic writing by bringing to the forefront, articles on subjects of interest to the legal profession and academia. The NLIU Law Review is now inviting manuscripts for Volume X, Issue II of the journal.
Theme of the Issue
For the purposes of this Issue, the term “national security” must be understood holistically to not only cover military threats but also wider notions such as food security, environmental security (for example, water security), energy security, healthy security, terrorism, etc. A suggestive, and in no way exhaustive, list of topics falling within the theme of the Issue is provided hereunder:
Need for Revamping Extraordinary Laws in India
- The National Security Act, 1980
- The Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967
- The Jammu and Kashmir Public Safety Act, 1978
Rise of Protectionism in India’s Foreign Trade, Investment and Funding Policy
- Press Note 3 of 2020 and its Impact on the Indian Investment Regime
- The Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Amendment Act, 2020 and the Indian Non-profit Sector
The Farmer’s Produce Act, 2020: A Critical Analysis

Need for Revamping India’s Healthcare Laws in the Post-COVID-19 Era
Any other contemporary legal issue pertaining to national security in India
Submission Guidelines
The author(s) are expected to adhere to the submission guidelines mentioned below:
Criteria for Evaluation: Grammar and Language, Structure and Logical Coherence, Contribution to Existing Literature, Contemporary Relevance, and Reference and Research.
Style Guidelines: The main body of the manuscript is to be in the following format:
- Font: Times New Roman
- Text Size: 12
- Line Spacing: 1.15
- Alignment: Justified
Citation Standards: Citations must strictly conform to the standards laid down in The Oxford University Standard for Citation of Legal Authorities (4th ed., 2012). Submissions must use only footnotes as a form of citation. Speaking or substantive footnotes are highly discouraged.
General Guidelines
Manuscripts submitted must not be written by more than two authors. Manuscripts must contain an abstract of 250-300 words, which is included in the word limit. Submissions must only be in electronic form in the .docx format. The body of the email containing the submission must specify the type of manuscript (for example, article).
The submission must be accompanied by a separate covering letter containing the author’s name, email id, contact number and the name of the institution, as well as a declaration form which may be downloaded from the website.
In case the submission has been co-authored, the declaration form may be filled by either of the two authors. Please note that the manuscript itself should not contain any information that can be used to identify the author.
Types of Submissions and Requirements
- Articles: 5000-10000 words
- Case Notes: 2000-5000 words
- Legislative Comment: 1000-3000 words
- Book Reviews: 1000-3000 words
The word limit is inclusive of the abstract, and exclusive of footnotes.
