Days of Work and Timings
Six days working days. Sundays are holidays. Timings are 10:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Accommodation etc. What did you do to chill in and around the office and the place of stay?
Being a resident of Lucknow, I didn’t prefer PG. Near the office there is a landmark ‘Manoj Pandey Chauraha’ where one can go to Dominos Pizza and Planter’s Tea Bar & Book Cafe during lunch hours.
First day formalities
I was introduced to Mr.Rishi Saxena sir who is the senior partner (corporate and commercial). He deals with various corporate matters and is currently dealing with matters of companies like Renault India Private Limited, Mahindra and Mahindra, Nissan India Private Limited, etc. He took a short interview of all interns.
On the very first day I was alloted an assignment of drafting reply on a consumer dispute from one of the associate, Mr.Swapnil Srivastava sir who assists the consumer dispute division. Also I drafted written arguments and evidence on affidavit on behalf of opposite parties in the dispute.
The tasks are divided as follows:
If you are interested in litigation, then you can take work from Mr Neeraj Kumar sir, who is the Managing Partner (Litigation) and he deals particularly in civil, criminal and family disputes. Also you can take work from Mr. Arvind Shukla sir, who also assists litigation division, who particularly allots research work.
If you are interested in corporate, then Mr.Rishi Saxena sir will be alloting you the work relating to drafting legal notice, preparing reports research work. Also assisting Ms Tuhina Swaroop mam and Ms Sonal Srivastava Mam.
If you are interested in assignments for International law, then Mr.Gaurav Saxena sir will assign the work, who is also Senior Partner (International Trade).
If you are interested in matters pertaining to Consumer disputes, then Mr. Swapnil Srivastava sir will assign the work.
The working environment was fabulous. But since the renovation work was on its way, we had little difficulty to adjust, but still we managed ourselves. There was a conference room in the basement wherein all the interns used to sit and did their assignments on their laptops. The office is fully air-conditioned.
Also there was a white board, where Neeraj sir conducts a lecture session teaching basics of Criminal Procedure Code, Negotiable Instruments Act, Family Law and also a brief of his pending cases along with important sections of Indian Penal Code. All the associates were very cooperative.
The Best Things
The best thing about this law firm is the lecture session. Neeraj sir explains each and every important provisions of the above mentioned acts in brief and our concepts get clear. I find no other firm like this conducting lecture sessions and spending much of ample time with all interns.
For me, it was a knowledge gaining internship. Also Neeraj sir shares and inculcates his motivational thoughts to all the interns as well as to his associates.
Work harder in order to achieve success throughout life.
