Duration of internship and timings
The internship was for a period of 21 days from 4th July to 25th July 2016.
However the maximum term of internship if one is interested can be as long as a month.
First impression, first day formalities, infrastructure
The National Green Tribunal is situated in the erstwhile Faridkot House which is undoubtedly a beautiful property.
You get to see lawyers in their black and white. Unlike other court premises NGT has a building with all sort of infrastructural facilities.
Main tasks
The main task involved was to follow the court room proceedings and to prepare the case synopsis for the same.
Work environment and people
This was the best part of the internship as you get to meet other law interns and in my case I met an intern who had came all the way long from USA and we became good friends.
Best things
The best thing in National Green Tribunal was to see the Chairperson Justice Swatter Kumar wrapping up the polluters in the bug.
Bad things
There was no bad thing as such.
Stipend
No Stipend
Biggest Lessons
The biggest lesson was that we came across the developing jurisprudence of environment of our country.
Any Other Thing
One should go for internship in NGT.
Accommodation
The accommodation I had was just 100 metres away from the NGT. It was Haryana Bhawan which was a decent deal of a place to stay in while you are in the national capital.
Although a more viable option is to book rooms on any app online in the Paharganj area which is near to the NGT and avoid living and eating in PGs.
Office Timings
The timings were quiet strict and the attendance register was well maintained and looked after.
