If the person going through your CV likes what he/she sees, then you can expect a confirmation within a week, well at least I did.
Duration and Timings
I interned for a period of 4 weeks from 15th May 2014 to 15th July 2014.
Officially the office timings are from 10:00 AM till 7:00 PM.
But depending upon which department you’re assigned and work given to you on a given day, people do stay till 9 PM.
Being my first day, I reported to office at around 9:30 AM. The receptionist, a very warm and friendly woman made me feel at ease from the first instance. She apprised of the rules to be adhered to as well as what is expected from Interns and introduced me to my Senior.
Infrastructure wise the office was very tiny, other than that it had all facilities you would expect in any law firm.
I was assigned to the Corporate Department, therefore dealing with matters concerning Aviation law, Arbitration, Contracts and Labour related disputes. On certain days Seniors from different departments such as criminal or tax, may call upon you to assist them in their day to day activities.
When it comes to work all the Partners, Principle and Senior Associates are extremely strict. You can’t slouch your way through. However, the Junior Associates are there for your aid, if and when required.
The Senior Associates usually take all the interns out for lunch once in a week. Other than an occasional paid lunch, the Junior Associates really warm up to you and make your work easier. The Senior Associates do try and not dump a lot of work in a day.
So overall the scene is pretty sorted. Like I said earlier when it comes to work, everyone is extremely professional and slouching around is not appreciated.
Definitely developed a sense of work ethic after interning at MV Kini.
You can relax when you’re free, but when there is work it better be done otherwise there are consequences.
