The Roles

SDG Associate [CLOSED]

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide support for the launch and management of the SDGCC Virtual Platform
  • Provide support in the Localisation and Integration for fast-tracking Sustainable Development Goals;

Requirements for the Role

  • A minimum of bachelor’s degree in economics, development science, political science, public policy, mass communications or other related fields.
  • Master’s degree is desirable.
  • Minimum of three years’ experience in development-related activities, governance, project /programme management, research, surveys and data collection, report drafting, and capacity development.
  • Language Requirements: Excellent verbal and written Hindi and English skills and demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in a multi-cultural environment.

Social Safeguard Specialist  [CLOSED]

Duties and Responsibilities

  • The Social Safeguard Specialist will be based at New Delhi and shall work under the guidance and supervision of the NPC – TSU (National Program Coordinator-Technical Support Unit).
  • The Social Safeguard Specialist is responsible for providing high-quality implementation support to the TSU/PSU team towards safeguarding the interest of indigenous people or tribal and other socially and economically marginalized group/category of people/households
  • Liaise relevant government agencies and all project partners for effective coordination of all project inputs
  • Provide technical backstopping for inputs for training activities supported by the Project
  • Provide timely inputs for the timely submission of all progress reports as may be required by UNDP, the Ministry of Agriculture
  • Perform any other tasks consistent with the level of the post and/ or assigned by the Reporting Officer; NPC – TSU; Joint Secretary, DoAC&FW, MoA&FW.

Requirements for the Role

  • Essential Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences or Sociology or Social Development or equivalent.
  • Desirable Qualification: Masters in Social Sciences or Sociology or Social Development or equivalent from a reputed University.
  • Essential Experience: At least 5-6 years of relevant experience in rural poverty and development, gender analysis, community mobilization, and capacity building.
  • Experience in Social Safeguard Assessments in large developmental projects
  • Experience in working with Central and/or State Governments/ international agencies/ on similar assignments will be preferred.
  • Desirable Experience: In-depth knowledge of the socioeconomic situations of the project areas is highly desirable.
  • Relevant Experience at the national level working with Governments and private entities in the insurance sector
  • Prior experience in technical advisory services in the insurance sector
  • Language Requirements: Excellent oral and writing skills in English and Hindi


The remuneration package is INR 119,175/- per month (taxable)

Livelihoods and Gender Specialist

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Finalize livelihood strategies in the NRM program for all projects
  • Identify agencies and stakeholders to support states in the implementation of the livelihood strategies
  • Guide state teams in the formation of clusters (at least one cluster/landscape in the project states) for select products and their value addition
  • Guide the technical agencies and experts engaged under the different projects to facilitate product diversification, value addition, and marketing in each project State in consultation with State Governments and UNDP
  • Guide the state teams for facilitating actions for enhancement in the income of project beneficiaries by 30% in the project landscapes through value chain development of identified products and capacity building
  • Support the state teams in linking Geographical Indication registration and post-registration processes with income enhancement

Requirements for the Role

  • At least 7 years of relevant experience in the development sector especially in areas such as sustainable livelihoods, gender mainstreaming, and capacity development
  • Good understanding of national and state government priorities, policies, and planning process on biodiversity conservation and natural resource management
  • Education: Masters’ degree in Social Sciences/Arts or a closely related field.
  • Language Requirements: An excellent command of English is required.
