Shameful and disastrous experience. This is a shame in the name of moot court and legal education.
It is shameful how universities reduce this sacrosanct concept of moot court into a breeding ground of corruption and malpractices.
The National Moot Court Competition of IIMT Noida was one such event. The rule book of the event mentions that top 8 teams shall be qualified to quarter finals, whereas 22 teams get qualified to the Quarters. The rule book also mentions that Quarter finals will be knock out rounds, so if there are 22 teams in total, 11 teams go to semis ideally. But they select 8 teams in semis. Still not shocked enough? Out of those 8 teams in semis, 2 TEAMS HAD NOT EVEN QUALIFIED TO THE QUARTERS and had straightaway gone to the semi finale (team 2035 and 2050).
Upon being challenged, the authorities with utmost rudeness and animosity declared that it was THEIR DISCRETION and no changes will be made.
It is funny that this college asks us to leave with our certificates even before the valedictory ceremony. It is funnier that this same college calls esteemed judges to give speeches of Constitutional morality in its inaugural session whereas every bit of the competition was played on corrupt, unscrupulous, unfair and immoral grounds. I get it, it’s your discretion but no discretion is absolute if it violates my fundamental right, it is subject to due process of law.
Shame on you. I sincerely hope, that no law student has to go through what we had to face since 18th October 2019. IIMT Noida, you were a nightmare which I hope no human ever has to face.
Some of the students and staff really consoled us and heard us out and we appreciate their efforts, but it has not undone the wrongs committed.

Dear smriti Jain
We are one of the aggrieved teams and are of the same view
We stand with you
Do you have that video made in IIMT ?
I’m writing this comment in order to make you aware that please don’t participate in any of the competitions organised by “IIMT LAW COLLEGE, NOIDA”. We participated in IIMT NATIONAL MOOT COURT, 2019. They were not following any of the rules and regulations made by them only.
Firstly, there was only one preliminary round instead of two.
Secondly, out of 48 of total teams they qualified 22 teams in quarter finals. Have you ever heard of any quarter finals in which 22 teams were there?
Thirdly, for semi finals 8 teams were qualified out of 22. According to their rule book only, quarter finals were to be held on knock- out basis. Which means out of 22, 11 teams were to be selected but the qualified 8 teams.
Fourthly, out of total 8 teams which were qualified in semi finals 2 of the teams didn’t appeared in quarter finals. They didn’t even cleared the preliminary rounds but qualified for the semi finals. For this the moot committee of this college replied that it is on their discretion that these teams have qualified.
Last but not the least, when the participants raised their voice against all this, the college authority mis-behaved with the participants and valid reasoning was given for all these flaws.
Thankyou!
“Beware of this college”
