The GNLU Centre for Women and Child Rights is conducting a Logo Making Competition for the purpose of the rebranding the Centre through a new logo that shall help symbolise its vision.

About GCWCR

GNLU Centre for Women and Child Rights engages in the interface of law with women and child development. The Centre actively engages in research projects and capacity building sessions with stakeholders in this area. The current projects of the Centre include research on Section 12(1)c RTE, School Mergers and Surrogacy Laws in India.

Background of GCWCR

There has been a lack of research in the field of policy relating to women and children in academia. The same has been coupled with discouraging statistics on the conditions of the two vulnerable groups in society. The latest NCRB data shows a 16% increase in crimes against women and a 20% increase in crimes against children.

Poor statistics have also been revealed for the State of Gujarat. It was found by the National Health Profile 2019 that 6 out of 10 girl students in Gujarat Government Schools do not go beyond class 10 highlights the need for research and policy analysis in such areas. Keeping this in mind, Gujarat National Law University has established the Centre for Women and Child Rights.

The centre is divided into two wings; one dedicated to research while the other for capacity building. While the research division will be engaged in empirical and legal analysis to produce publications, reports and policy briefs and the capacity building division will organize field-driven activities with the key stakeholders (women and children) to improve their status and condition in society.

About the Competition

The Centre is looking for a rebranding through a new logo that shall help symbolise the vision of the Centre to place itself as a pillar in the interface of women and child rights in India and impact policies and laws in this direction.

The Centre is looking for a dynamic logo that can help symbolise the larger trends in the policies around women and children. The Centre shall reward a sum of Rs. 2000/- for the best logo that captures the essence of the Centre. In addition, other top 5 logos would be awarded a Certificate of Appreciation.
