Lex Macula is a registered NGO under the Societies Registration Act, 1860. We are a youth organisation specializing in organizing moot courts, debates, seminars and other legal competitions for a much better learning experience than what is offered to the law students.
Driven by a sense of excellence and talent in the young minds, a variety of mediums are provided to help students achieve perfectionism in every domain of the legal field. The vision at Lex Macula is based around equality of opportunity in the field of law. By creating a community of law students, all students are delivered an equal shot at growing and learning.
About the Webinar
The topic for discussion is ‘Proportionality – Balancing the Scales of Justice’. Sir will explain about the amalgamation of Doctrine of Proportionality with other fields of Law and how the Doctrine works.
About the Speaker
Hon’ble Justice Mr. Arjan Kumar Sikri enrolled as an Advocate in July 1977 with Bar Council of Delhi and started practicing in Delhi. Conducted cases of all types with specialization in Constitutional cases, Labour – Service Matters and Arbitration Matters. Was counsel for numerous Public Sector Undertakings, Educational Institutions, Banks & Financial Institutions and various Private Sector Corporations. Justice Sikri was also part time lecturer in Campus Law Centre, Delhi University (1984-89). Hon’ble Justice Mr. Arjan Kumar Sikri was Vice-President, Delhi High Court Bar Association during 1994-95.
Was a member of the Governing Body of various colleges from time to time. Designated as Senior Advocate by
Delhi High Court on 30th September 1997. Hon’ble Justice Mr. Arjan Kumar Sikri was appointed as Judge of High Court of Delhi w.e.f. 7th July 1999. As a Judge, dealt with all kinds of jurisdictions and given many landmark judgments. Justice Sikri was chosen as one of the 50 most influential persons in Intellectual Property in the world in the survey conducted by Managing Intellectual Property Association (MIPA) for the year 2007.
Justice Sikri became the Acting Chief Justice of Delhi High Court w.e.f. 10th October 2011 and was elevated as the Chief Justice of Punjab and Haryana High Court w.e.f. 23.9.2012. Hon’bleJustice Mr. Arjan Kumar Sikri was elevated to the Supreme Court of India on 12th April 2013. He retired as the senior most puisne judge of Supreme Court of India on 6 March 2019.
