February 01 – February 25, 2019

Timings: 9:30 AM- 7:30 PM

First impression, first day formalities, infrastructure

I was introduced by the HR Ms. Aditi to my mentor Ms. Soni Ojha and then she introduced me to the other associates. I had to fill up a form which was given to me through e-mail after confirmation of my internship, I had to carry it daily to the office. Then I was asked about the area of my interest and then I was alotted with my work.

The infrastructure is quite good, there’s a small kitchen with a coffee machine (you can have it as much as you want) and a microwave.

Main tasks

I was made to visit the Kolkata High Court, District Court, Bankshal court, consumer forums on a daily basis, the first half of the day I had to spend in the court. At the court, I used to listen to the proceedings and make notes of the cases of my mentor.

After that, I had to make the synopsis of the cases, draft petitions, show cause, FIR, Affidavits. The cases I was given to were related to corporate and civil and law such as of Negotiable Instrument act, divorce cases etc. Some of the cases that I dealt with were also from criminal Law such as relating to Sexual harassment at work Place.

Work Environment and People

The work environment was really friendly and the associates were easily approachable, But yes I had to work a lot. I also had 6 co-interns with me, which made the entire internship period memorable.

Good things

I was never treated like an intern there, they always treated me like one of their associates.

Bad Things

There were no bad things as such.

No Stipend.

I stayed at Naktala Basu Road, it was very far from the office, I had to travel for 45 mins by metro and 10 minutes walking from Chandni Chowk Metro Station.

8 out of 10.
