First Day Formalities & Impression
A day prior to the internship I was provided with my mentor Adv Akash Keshav who is an Advocate on Record at Patna High Court. I interned under him. Every alternate day sir would give a task and a deadline was provided to submit
The main task were as follows:
- Understanding the Work of Municipality.
- Researching over Bihar Municipal Act, 2007 and Bihar Municipal Rule, 2010.
- Drafting of legal notice.
- Going through divorce cases and prepared points on it.
- Reading judgements of cases.
- Reading Amendment in Bihar Municipal Act.
- Prepared reports whether state govt can take the power given to municipalities and give to other functionaries of govt.
- Challenging the constitutional validity of article 243W.
- Researching over local self govt ,its ingredients and its power.
- Drafting a synopsis of Writ petition.
- Researched over Contempt of Court.
The internship was quite an enriching experience as the mentor was very cooperative and approachable. Sir even clarified doubts in case I felt stuck. Although it was a virtual internship there was no compromise in learning. In the internship, one can learn practical nuances of the profession.
I wish it was an offline internship
The Internship was a wholesome experience be it researching, drafting or anything. One can really intern in a law firm for getting practical exposure. The team members are very cooperative.
