It’s been 3 years since Lawctopus first went up live!
Here is a brief look on how we’ve come here.
This was the first logo.
You can of course see a lot of octopuses there.
Basically these octopuses are created out of an imprint of a hand.
The tagline for Lawctopus then went: helping hand for law students.
Also, the word ‘law’ is in a different background.
That was to clarify two things: one, that it’s about law; second that ‘C follows ‘W’. There is no ‘O’ in between.
It’s Lawctopus, not LawOctopus. P
ronounced as Lock-toe-puss; not Law Octopus.
This was the second logo.
It’s of course an octopus, with 7 colourful arms +1 (copied from Google+ then)
We discarded this pretty fast because it resembled the male organ.
This is the logo we use now.
The clock’s hands make up the alphabet ‘L’ of Lawctopus.
The time they show is 5:08 (eight minutes past five).
5 stands for the number of co-founders.
8 is for the ‘octa’ of the Octopus.
The hour hand is slow, nearly unmoving, very much like our core focus of helping law students.
The minute hand signifies our approach towards doing things; where we try to be quick and innovative.
Also there is a philosophical meaning attached: of time being the purest, eternal law.
