Good things about the University based on your personal experience

Among four Government law colleges in Kerala, GLCT is the youngest one. And, it is the best law college for academics too.

Every year at least 10, first rank holders for the university are the products of GLCT.

Everyone has an identity of their own and are open minded or at least open to fair criticism and acceptance of different ideologies.

There is an academic committee at the college level, which ensures the timely coverage of the course or the syllabus.

The college library has a wide collection of books, which are really helpful. There were four academic centers in the college.

They organize National, International seminars, conference, panel discussions, workshops and special lectures amongst others.

The Alternate Dispute Resolution (ADR) Centre conducts Adalats with the corporation of DLSA and TLSA.

A.T Markose Chair on Advanced Legal Studies (ATMC) also organizes various seminars and moot court activities for the students.

Bad things about the University based on your personal experience

The campus is only 84 cents. So, there are 5 buildings which has 4 to 5 floors.

It’s very difficult for disabled persons to come to the class. The construction of the lift elevators are still in progress.

How’s the faculty?

The faculty is really good. They never interfere with the privacy of the students.

They provide ultimate freedom and respect to the students. They are engaged in the timely completion of the syllabus.

The office staff are very friendly towards the students.

The teachers are very helpful and energetic to prepare the students to ensure the students excel in their dream profession.

Student friendly atmosphere, library with availability of a variety of law books and there is a reference section too.

The cyber station build in the college is very helpful for the students to browse and print the necessary documents.

The reading room is very large and provides a calm and quite atmosphere. There is one auditorium and two exam halls.

There is a ADR centre and a research centre.

Indoor and outdoor sport facilities like crickets etc are available.

There is a carom centre, shuttle or badminton court and a public playground.

The quality of the class rooms and canteen are really good.

How are your peers?

The students of GLC, Thrissur are likely to be known as GLCTians, because they are like a family.

Every student has their own political ideologies and all are open minded to accept the whole of this.

The political parties make some strikes to realize the needs of the campus as well as the students.

There is no difference or ego such as junior & senior; all are friends.

The seniors are very helpful towards the juniors for academic and non-academic assistance.

Seniors are the best motivation for the juniors to do new things without any fear. Owing to this factor, a student becomes self-sufficient to deal with any situation.

How are the placements in your college?

The placement cell is not properly working.

But the campus life makes a student to get the best job as they wish.

Our seniors are the main example for this. The campus ensures the student becomes efficient for the profession.

What are some of the things you’d advise to a 1st year aspirant who enters your college?

Don’t come with the expectation that you can enjoy the campus life as above mentioned in your 1st year.

In the first half of the 1st year you become the part of the college.

Then you realize the real spirit of the campus and your friends.

You have to face some problems if you are engaged with the political parties.
