Job Details

This is a research position in law and finance. We are looking for curious, motivated, legally qualified persons for research in financial regulation. The person will be required to support research in law and economics on a full-time basis.

The researcher will be required to study laws governing finance, including securities laws, foreign exchange management, banking laws, corporate laws and bankruptcy laws. It will also involve research in laws and policies of other nations like UK, USA, Singapore, etc.

The position will involve working with persons from varying backgrounds including economics and management. It will require working with data-sets, analyses and designing policy and regulatory interventions. It will provide exposure to cutting edge research in finance.


Bachelor’s degree in law with 0 – 2 years of experience.

The office functions on free and open source softwares like Linux, LaTeX, R and others. Previous experience in Linux is not required. However, if appointed, the candidate will be required to learn and use this software.

The candidate must be willing to adapt to technology, work long hours, and deliver quality products within defined timelines.


Rs. 5,40,000 – 7,80,000 per annum

(There can be a pay revision after a performance review, six months after joining).

    I had applied for this post after seeing the advertisement on Lawctopus. I received a mail saying that I was shortlisted for the interview process which was to be held on 17th June , 2016. The next day I received a mail saying that the recruitment was closed and after that I have not received any replies for my mails. How can the recruitment process close in 12 hours , that too after sending out the recruitment dates? They have stated that the closing date for application is June 12 , 2016 and on the other hand they have already ‘closed’ recruitment.

  2. Young lawyers with research oriented mentality, for them this job is the best one. Once the Young Advocate understand the work, definitely within few years he/she will become as a global lawyer. In the initial stages when you are getting 5.4 to 7.8 lakhs, to learn the subject you have to spend more hours. Once you immersed in your work, time will not be a constraint. Young ones with optimistic future are suggested to utilize the above offer. Being young one you may not know this opportunity but after 5 to 10 years you will know that you have taken a right decision in the initial stages of your career.
