Current requirement:

The position of Associate (1) is available at the Chamber and applications are invited from lawyers who have a minimum 3 years of litigation experience with a law firm/ chamber.

Applicant should exuberate a pleasant personality, confidence, good command over Hindi and English and have sufficient drafting skills.

He/she would be expected to carry out research/drafting as well as participate in client meetings and strategy discussions, subject to performance.

Opportunity will also be given to appear before various judicial/ quasi-judicial authorities.

Profile: Varun Shankar is a graduate from the University Law College, Bangalore University. He started his career with the Litigation & Disputes Redressal Team of Luthra & Luthra Law Offices, New Delhi and proceeded to read for the LL.M degree at the University of Cambridge.

After successfully completing his LL.M, in 2014, Varun setup his independent practice.

His broad practice revolves around issues relating to civil, contractual and commercial disputes, corporate affairs, electricity laws, intellectual property rights and their protection, consumer welfare and corporate responsibility, real estate and tenancy disputes, arbitrations, criminal offences and prosecutions and matrimonial disputes.

The practice is closely associated with Durgesh Shankar [a former Member, Central Board of Direct Taxes] and together they advice and consult on issues relating to tax (domestic and international), India market penetration, incorporations, strategic long-term planning, etc. v Currently, the Chamber is handling various non-litigious and litigation assignments across various states and predominantly before the district and trial courts in Delhi, the Delhi High Court and Supreme Court of India.

His practice also requires him to represent his client interests before various quasi-judicial/ departmental authorities.
