About MP High Court
The Madhya Pradesh High Court is the High Court of the state of Madhya Pradesh which is located in Jabalpur. It was established as the Nagpur High Court on 2 January 1936 by Letters Patent dated 2 January 1936, issued under Section 108 the Government of India Act, 1935. This Letters Patent continued in force even after the adoption of the constitution of India on 26 January 1950 by virtue of Articles 225 & 372 thereof. The court has a sanctioned judge strength of 53.
The High Court Legal Services Committee (MP HCLSC)
The constitution of an HCLSC is given under Chapter III, Section 8a of The Legal Services Authorities Act, 1987.
According to The Act,
‘The State Authority shall constitute a Committee to be called the High Court Legal Services Committee for every High Court, for the purpose of exercising such powers and performing such functions as may be determined by regulations made by the State Authority.’
About the Opportunity
To institute the Special Leave Petitions filed by the petitioners of the weaker sections of the society, at the Hon’ble High Court, the Lower Court Records and other documents (in Hindi) are required to be translated from Hindi to English.
To serve this purpose, The MP HCLSC is looking to empanel advocates for the role of Translator for the translation work from Hindi to English.
