30 days. The timing for the firm was 9.30am to may be up to 10:30 pm, Its upon your choice as nobody compels you to stay till late night, 5 days a week.
Sometimes you may need to visit Delhi High Court too. However, the timings are flexible.
First impression, first day formalities, infrastructure
The first impression reminds you of a Chamber. There aren’t any first day formalities as such as we had to kick start our internship on the very first day.
The Chamber is near the Noida city centre Metro station and hence there is an easy access to those who lives in Delhi, and hence there is no difficulty in finding a good place to eat like Sec 41 market.
Main tasks under J Sai Deepak Iyer
Although the internship was just for 30 days, it touches upon a great variety of aspects related to IPR including Trademark, Patent etc. Every single day was useful as we had a different job on every single day.
We were allowed to draft various application, making notes on various cases, searching Prior Arts, and all the associates and staff were extremely friendly and I like to thank Pintu ji and Shankar ji working there.
Further, we had a visit to the Delhi High court and attend the ongoing proceeding like I attended the ongoing matter of GI on basmati rice, which is basically between State of MP and State of Punjab.
All these were really fascinating as being a law student, we never get to see the reality and this internship was very fruitful in understanding the Practical application of Patent law etc.
To top it all, the associates Like Avinash Sir who was my mentor during my internship who made me to read full cases, how to interpret sections of Patent Law…without his support i don’t think i will be able to learn anything.
The sum it up, I say if anyone is a IP Lover and having interest in IP Litigation then he must go there as the way J Sai Deepak Sir who is really approachable person teaches you the application of CPC and IP Laws, I don’t think anyone can it’s really a learning experience.
Work environment and people
The work environment is very friendly!
The office people are very co-operative and help you with anything you want and you will get ginger tea whenever you want.
Learning experience and for me first time drafting experience. And you will never regret doing this as this would be the best of all internships that you can do!
There is no stipend and this is clearly mentioned when you join.
Read, Read and Read because more you read more you get to know about what actually law is.
